New Work
I'm about 2/3 of the way through my second project for author Roland D. Yeomans--Adrift in the Time Stream.  I must confess that this is a true stretch for me, as I rarely read fantasy, but he has such a way of pulling me in.  In all honesty, I must give some credit to my 11-year-old grand daughter, Maggie, who reads fantasy almost exclusively and replied to my comment that I rarely read it, said,  "Grampa Growl, you have to remember that fantasy is just pure imagination."  WOW  Talk about the wisdom of a child!!  The sad part about this project is that I came in on the 2nd book of a trilogy, which made it a bit difficult to "catch up;" that said, I sincerely hope I get to do the 3rd book, too!

I know, I know...I've benn remiss in keeping this current.  I promise to work harder at doing better!
I've finished books 5 & 6 and both are on their way to retail, having been approved by the authors and passed QA.  They should be available soon.
# 5 is titled Duty to Investigate, by J.W. Stone, a former U.S. Marine Officer who served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and writes with the authority earned under fire.  The story takes place during the 2nd battle of Fallujah and revolves around a civilian reporter embedded with a Marine combat unit who believes she witnessed an atrocity by an American Marine...and the lengths the Marine Corps and the U.S. will go to to get things right in the pursuit of justice...and truth.  If you like action with a taste of reality, this is for you.
Book # 6 is Let the Wind Blow Through You, by Roland Yeomans.  This was my first exposure to Roland's work, but I can promise it won't be my last.  His writing, his way with words, and his ability to turn a phrase are beautiful, if not amazing.  It's a short story bordering on novella, only 39 pages and just about an hour of narration, and every minute of it worth the investment of your time.  The main characters are a Native American psychologist and a female Mafia "donna." At the end he reveals that he never finished the story and seeks your input as to whether he should!  In all honesty, I don't care what your reading preferences are, this is a must read, preferably a must "listen." Whether you prefer "real" books, e-books or, hopefully, audio books (!), do yourself a favor and get this one.
Jumping to future tense, the Warrior's Publishing Group, which produced Duty to Investigate, has offered me a new book called Archangel of Sedona, and Mr. Yeomans has offered me a new book called Adrift in the Time Stream.  I've accepted both, and both are new adventures for me, as Archangel is more "metaphysical" and Adrift is fantasy.  From what I've read, both should be fun projects and stretch my skills.
So, stay tuned.

Fourth Book Finished!

I finally finished my 4th book, www.whatif, and it should be available soon.   It's a true "what if" story...in this case, what if there were a company that could be called upon to handle sensitive matters that lie beyond the reach of official entities?  First-time author Joe Dutcher isn't afraid to push the envelope in this look at one way, albeit extreme, to address the ever-escalating price of energy.  He promises 1, probably 2 sequels, and I must confess to being curious to see where he goes next.  I'll let you know when it's available.

Almost as soon as I finished that one I got a contract for a new one, Duty to Investigate.  This one is about a journalist embedded in a Marine combat unit in the second Iraq war and promises to be a very good read.  I've submitted the first 15 minutes for the author's approval and am looking forward to getting into it full tilt!

Two New Books Available!!

Shattered: on the Edge of Insanity went on  sale on audible.com on Fri and has already shattered all of my expectations!  This book caught me so off guard at the end that I talked about it for days after finishing it.  There were several times throughout the read that I thought I'd figured it out, only to find that I was SOOOO far off!  Attorney Rick Ratner wakes up in a mental hospital, not knowing how he got there, only to learn that his  daughter has been murdered...by him!  If you like well-crafted suspenseful mysteries, this is a MUST read (hear?).  To listen to a sample, go to:  http://www.audible.com/search/ref=a_search_tseft__galileo?advsearchKeywords=Shattered%3A+on+the+Edge+of+Insanity&x=13&y=21

The Stillness of Winter, which I actually finished before Shattered, is now available on audible.com and should be out on amazon and iTunes soon.  This was a different read for me...it's a love story (not to be confused with a romance novel) told by a guy from a guy's perspective. I never spoke with the author about it, but it reads like a memoir and, if it isn't, he's a very good author, simply because he pulls you in and makes you feel it is real. Be forewarned, the language gets a little rough...again because it's real. It's 3 best friends who interact like any best friends do--without having to worry about filters or being judged; there is absolutely no pretentiousness here. If you read it, be prepared for some surprises.  To listen to a sample, go to:  http://www.audible.com/search/ref=a_search_tseft__galileo?advsearchKeywords=The+Stillness+of+Winter&x=11&y=11

More on the way!!

Just finished up book # 3 today, and the author approved it already, so it's on its way to QA. For anyone who likes a well-crafted suspense story, this is a MUST read (listen?) The ending caught me totally by surprise! It's called Shattered: On the Edge of Insanity by Jason Wallace. I'll keep you posted as to when it's available.
Meanwhile, book # 2, The Stillness of Winter, has passed the QA process and should be out next week!
In the meantime, I'm about a third of the way through www.whatif and can now devote my concentration to finishing it up...and putting a few more auditions out there!!
Betrayed is selling; I just wish I knew what's considered to be "good." Regardless, I appreciate your support and do hope you'll post some reviews so we can entice others to listen!
